Fangirl Feelings: Dark-skinned male lead courting the female lead in a historical rom-com? Inject this content straight into my veins, please! While the “estranged princess family” troupe certainly isn’t original, the art and animation of this anime looks so great! I’m looking forward to seeing how comedy is incorporated into Betrothed to my Sister’s Ex since the trailer seems to show a mostly cute narrative.
2. The Fragrant Flowers Blooms with Dignity
Series Details
- Premieres: July 5
- Genre: Romance, Drama
- Demographic: Shonen with Shojo elements
- Where to Watch: Netflix
An unlikely pair of high school students meet at his family’s cake shop. Will they be able to overcome their societal differences and form a friendship?
Fangirl Feelings: I’m sooo hyped for this one. This might be wild to say, but The Fragrant Flowers Blooms with Dignity might be the first Shonen romance story that really hits all the feels in the best way. CloverWorks delivers a visually stunning series where worlds collide in the comfort of a cake shop.

3. My Dress Up Darling, Season 2
Series Details
- Premieres: July 4
- Genre: Romance, School
- Demographic: Seinen
- Where to Watch: Crunchyroll
Marin and Gojou continue their cosplay creation journey in Season 2 of My Dress Up Darling.
Fangirl Feelings: Another season of perfectly crafted cosplays and slightly awkward interactions, My Dress Up Darling is one of the most anticipated romance series to return this summer. Personally, there was a bit too much fan service in the first season for my taste, so I never finished the series. However, fans that want to see the perfect Waifu will be in for a treat with this one.
4. Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus

Fangirl Feelings: Are you ready for Santa Claus in Summer? Nearly 7 years, 3 movies and 1 anime later, Rascal Does Not Dream returns!
