June has quickly come upon us and with it new kdramas!!

While this is not an exhaustive list of shows releasing during this final month of spring, these new series are all a must-watch.

1. Squid Game Season 3

Netflix’s award-winning series Squid Game will come to its thrilling end this month.

This rom-com sageuk features a star-studded cast of Girls’ Generation Seohyun and Taecyon of 2PM.

Summary: Based on the web novel that shares its nameThe First Night with the Duke depicts a historical romance drama following a young girl whose soul transfers into the body of a character within a romance novel.

3. Mercy for None

Series Details

  • Genre: Action, Crime, Thriller
  • Rating: TV-MA
  • Starring: So Ji-sub, Huh Joon-ho, Gong Myoung
  • Where to Watch: Netflix

Adapted from the webtoon “Plaza Wars” written by Oh Se Hyung, Mercy for None depicts the story of former gangster Nam Gi-jun (So Ji-sub), who returns to his past life to seek justice for his fallen brother.

While romance dramas are my personal, primary viewing pleasure, a good dark thriller can get my excitement going. So shines in the noir genre with past starring roles in “A Company Man” and “Rough Cut” in 2012 and 2007, respectively.

Summary: After severing ties with his gang, a former gangster returns to uncover the truth behind his brother’s death — embarking on a relentless path of revenge.

4. Hunter with a Scalpel

Series Details

  • Premieres: June 16
  • Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime
  • Rating: TV-MA
  • Starring: Park Ju-Hyun, Park Yong-Woo, Kang Hoon, Ryu Seung-Soo
  • Where to Watch: Disney+ and U+mobiletv

This psychological thriller stars award-winning actress Park Ju-hyun known for her roles in “Extracurricular” and “The Forbidden Marriage”. The 16-episode series debuts on Disney+.

Summary (edited): While examining a corpse, a forensic pathologist discovers traces of her father who was a serial killer. She desperately attempts to track down her father with the chief of the violent crimes team.

5. Our Movie

Series Details

  • Rating: (TBD)
  • Starring: Namkoong Min, Jeon Yeo-Bin, Lee Seol, Seo Hyun-Woo
  • Where to Watch: Disney+ and SBS

Our Movie seems like it has the potential to be a ktrauma.

The story follows a movie director that breaks his 5-year directing drought. He wrote a story that featured a woman that was dealing with an incurable disease, but as he works on the film, he meets a woman in the same position as his main lead.

As they create the movie together, they begin to fall in love.
